Differin is the brand name for the drug adapalene. Differin is a retinoid compound, used topically to treat mild to moderate acne. Differin comes in a gel (0.1% and 0.3% strength) and a cream (0.1% strength). The cream is a better choice for those with more sensitive skin. Differin exfoliates the skin, in other word “removing” the acne. Several weeks are necessary to see improvement.


Of the the different gels the 0.1% is the most common. Now Differn does work but you may go through an irritating process to get there. Differin cream 0.1% is used people with pre-existing skin conditions while Differin 0.3% gel is used for the toughest cases.
