Friday, September 25th, 2009

Are there acne products that really work? Is it for me? Is it safe? If you have acne these may be questions that you may have asked. In order to answer these questions first you must understand the problem. Acne is a skin skin condition where you have an excess of oil secreted and the oil along with dead skin and bacteria clog the pores. Acne usually appear in the teen years but some adults in 20′, 30’s and 40’s can still get it. But if you can be patient enough acne usually clears up on its within a few years, so no treatment is needed.

There are ways you can take care of your skin the keep you from ever getting acne at least that’s the hope anyways. Wash your face with a mild soap, but not too often because it could make you condition worse. Watch your diet because certain foods actually make acne worse, though foods are not the cause of acne. For you women try not to wear makeup or as little as possible and if you do use makeup it should be an oil-free, water based product. Also drink more water, drinking lots of cleanses the body of toxins

Bad Acne

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

Not everyone has the same acne problem and so the best acne treatment for one person may not be the best acne treatment for another. Acne inflicts different people differently. For some, it’s just a mild attack which can be handled quite sufficiently with a simple facial cleansing routine. For others acne can be a serious problem. Acne can be serious enough to produce scars which, if left untreated, can be emotionally and psychologically distressing. So how do you know which category you fit in? First check with your doctor. Once you determine which category then you need to decide which treatment is best for you.

How do you decide that you ask. Well, I say experiment because no two people are the same. What works for one person may not work for the other. So make careful observations when trying different products, take notes if you have to. One product that is and has gotten good reviews is Differin. Differin is a product that get deep into pores to help clear the acne you have and keep new acne from starting.  Differin comes in three flavors depending on the severity of the condition and the sensitivity of the skin. So your doctor must accurately determine your condition.

Such techniques would be the treatment with alpha hydroxy acid or several forms of chemical peels.Butn then there are others on the medicinal side. One such product is Differin. What is Differin? Differin is a medical prescription retinoid chemical for the treatment of acne. It is usually prescribed to children over the age of 12. Warnings such as: do not get it in the eyes, do not get it in the crease of the nose and lastly do not get it on the lips. Differin products have proven time and time again to get deep into the pores to help clear up your acne, thus preventing new acne from forming. Differin products work at the source of the problem not treating the symptoms like many other acne medication. Differin comes in three forms: two gels and one cream each with it’s own potency. Differin Gel, 0.1% is a clear gel that powers deep inside your pores to control the buildup that leads to acne.

And it also to helps prevent the formation of new acne, and can also help get rid of lesions already present. Differin Gel, 0.3% is a clear gel with a powerful, fast formulation for those with more severe acne. It works under the skin’s surface to unclog pores and clear up pimples. Differin Cream, 0.1% is specifically created for people with sensitive skin . It absorbs quickly and easily, and has an emollient cream base. Differin is a retinoid and is more tolerable than some others. A side effect of Differin it that it can cause mild burning, peeling redness of the skin, but that is the case with all retinoids. These side effect seem dissipate with regular use of Differin. Differin is relatively inexpensive compared to other face creams.

Differin is the brand name for the drug adapalene. Differin is a retinoid compound, used topically to treat mild to moderate acne. Differin comes in a gel (0.1% and 0.3% strength) and a cream (0.1% strength). The cream is a better choice for those with more sensitive skin. Differin exfoliates the skin, in other word “removing” the acne. Several weeks are necessary to see improvement.

Of the the different gels the 0.1% is the most common. Now Differn does work but you may go through an irritating process to get there. Differin cream 0.1% is used people with pre-existing skin conditions while Differin 0.3% gel is used for the toughest cases.

The Best Acne Cure

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

Acne is an uncomfortable and embarrassing skin condition that affects nearly eighty percent of people in their teens to the thirties, despite its prevalence, it remains a problem without a cure. This might be disheartening news to most who suffer from acne. Medical science has not found a solution to this problem but medical advances have led to the formulation of many promising products that will hopefully one day cure acne. And the best acne cures vary from person to person. One such cure is Differin. Differin is a product that gets deep into the pores and cleans them and prevents new acne form forming.

Differin is a topical solution applied to the surface of the skin, similar to Vitamin A. Differin is usually prescribed to people 12 and older. Differin is a pretty strong product so avoid getting it in your eyes, in the crease of your nose and on your lips. If those surfaces should come into contact with Differin just wash it out with a mild soap. Also avoid sunlight because Differin could possibly enhance the sensitivity to sunlight thus causing sunburn. As with all medications tell your doctor about pre-existing conditions and if you are pregnant because this medication may be harmful to an unborn baby.

What is Differin?

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

For those of you that do not know what differin is (I didn’t know until I researched it) it is a topical retinoid used for the treatment moderate to severe acne. What is a retinoid you say. Retinoids are a class of chemical compounds related to Vitamin A. You can research the benefits of Vitmain A on your own.

Now back to Differin. Differin, apparently is a new kid on the block. Differin is used to treat people with severe acne conditions, typically anyone past the age of 12. Now there are some precautions when using Differin, such avoiding exposure to sunlight, because Differin can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, as result sunburn is possible. Also you want to avoid getting it in your eyes, the crease of your nose and the lips. As with any precaution, if any of the previous conditions occur just wash out with water.

It looks as though Differin is getting good results in terms of its effectiveness. Particularly if you use differin with other topical treatments the results seem to be more significant, according to reviews.

Now you must see a doctor if you want to use Differin because Differin is a prescribed drug. As with all medicines there are precautions particularly to pregnant women.

are hormones responsible for acne

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

When we think of acne & hormones we automatically think of our teen years but hormones can affect adults as well. Maybe even more since I believe the stress factor can be more intense & complicated.

Women always seem to get the best of everything – like going through menopause. (ha,ha) and pregnancy which I am not saying is a bad thing but your body sure does go through a lot of changes as well as mood swings. We have increased oil in our skin.

And of course there is menstruation every month until you get to go through menopause. You get to have breakouts before your period to let you know it’s coming , You men out there don’t know how lucky you have it. Sure you have to put with us but you don’t have to go through it.

Sometimes again – women experience it in their late twenties even after maybe not having acne at all so far in their lives.

Preventing acne with water

Monday, September 7th, 2009

The statement “water is life” pretty much sums it up. With out water everything would simply go dry & die. Water is good for all creatures – I’d say they way most of polute our bodies, we need it the most.  It helps all of our organs & skin.

Besides drinking water, good cleansing & scrubbing of the skin is esential.

It can prevent conditions from popping up, like acne  – black heads, white heads and blemishes.

It also helps in losing weight & keeping it off too.

It helps with water retention as well. Got to keep those fluids moving and keep that body going. It rids the body of waste and toxic elements our bodies may want to hold on to.

The body simply will not function with enough water. It may try but is won’t be very pleasant.

Water should be cold as it absorbs into our system more quickly than warm water. I don’t know many people that would prefer warm water anyway  – yuck !

If you stop drinking enough water, your body  fluids will get thrown off balance  – you can get get stressed out and it can show on face in form of acne.
